What are the biggest problems that academic society, scientists, entrepreneurs, engineers, innovators, inventors are trying to solve? Are we living scientific historical crisis or we are addressing real problems? I am not sure.
Representatives of some spheres are trying to make noise and prove that most problems are vertical and local, but I am sure, most important problems are horizontal and global. For example, growing deserts and forest fires are global problems, even happening locally. Global solutions can be gadgets to predict fires or even artificial clouds and rains in areas where desert or forest fires are killing nature, wildlife and making hunger.
To solve such big problems, big data and powerful computers are needed. Some of such problems scientists are solving thanks to Supercomputers, but Supercomputers are not powerful enough to solve all problems or give best solutions. That is why some professionals are trying to use Quantum Computers and Artificial Intelligence and even Quantum Computers are not very stable and living their embryonic stage of development (e.g. IBM 127 Qubit Quantum Processor is like IBM 305 RAMAC computer) and can solve only specific problems, but are powerful enough to solve couple of global problems which can be found in California.
Why California? Because even California is really amazing, rich, beautiful, different and prosperous state with lot’s of great minds and two globally important poles (Hollywood and Silicon Valley), but slowly becoming desert and without solving following 3 problems California may lose it’s nature and wildlife forever.
- Forest fires/Afforestation.
- Water problem.
- Ocean Cleaning.
I do not want to explain all problems and give ideas how to solve them, I am not expert in these areas and I am sure many industry innovators have ideas or even working prototypes. I am just leaving this here, food for thought, I am using bold marker to mark these problems, and let everybody to think about it, to think how Quantum Computers and Artificial Intelligence may give solutions to these problems.
